We are part of the Turnwell Mental Health Network and accept Medicare, Tricare, and most major insurance plans. No VA referral required. Accepting new patients at all three locations, often with prompt availability.

Our Corpus Christi clinic now offers Spravato (esketamine), the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression. If you have tried two or more antidepressants without enough relief, Spravato may be worth discussing with your psychiatrist. Treatment is given in-office under clinical supervision at our certified Corpus Christi site.

Intensive Outpatient Program launching in Edinburg
Our Edinburg clinic is preparing to launch a structured Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. As the only IOP in the STMHA network, it will combine group therapy, individual sessions, and psychiatric medication management, so patients across McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley can get intensive support without a hospital stay.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide psychiatric evaluations. A therapist provides talk therapy and behavioral interventions but typically cannot prescribe medication. STMHA has both psychiatrists and licensed therapists who often collaborate on the same patient's care.
Yes. STMHA offers secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth psychiatry services to patients anywhere in Texas. Telehealth appointments are available for medication management, psychiatric follow-ups, and consultations. Texas parity laws require insurance companies to cover telehealth mental health services at the same rate as in-person visits.
No referral is needed, including for Tricare patients. We are accepting new patients at all three locations, often with prompt availability. Call your nearest clinic or complete the Become a Patient form online.
